Mexico: Breeds locally in nw. and e. Mexico, Migrant elsewhere (Peterson & Chalif, 1973).
Habitat: Pachy thickets, overgrown fields, brushy borders (Edwards, 1989).
Similar Species: Mangrove Cuckoo, Black-billed Cuckoo.
